Dance Company

This is a non-competitive performance concert dance company. Four different leveled companies ranging from novice to pre-professional level. A year-long commitment for dancers ages 6-18yrs who are interested in more in depth training, more performance opportunities, and a team-like environment. 

Introducing FOUR levels of Dance Company!

Apprentice (approx 6-9y)

This is for approx. ages 6-9yrs. An introduction to being a part of a performance dance company. Students will learn one dance plus the large group company dance. They will perform alongside our other dance companies at local festivals, parades and Pistons + Lugnuts pre-game performances. The apprentice company will also perform at the Company Spring Dance Concert Mosaic. Students will also participate in fun events such as the Company Picnic, In-House Convention/Workshop, Halloween Party and Christmas Party!

Junior (approx8-13y)

This is for approx. ages 8-13yrs. The beginning of formalized performance company experience. These students will get the chance to learn multiple dances in a variety of styles by DDC staff and guest choreographers and teachers. They will perform in all community performances, pre-game performances at Pistons + Lugnuts and the Company Spring Dance Concert Mosaic. Students will also participate in fun events such as the Company Picnic, In-House Convention/Workshop, Halloween Party and Christmas Party

Senior(approx13-18y)

This is a pre-professional company for students approx. ages 13-18yrs. This is reserved for students who are progressing in their technique and performance skills and are looking for advanced training. These students will get the chance to learn multiple dances in a variety of styles by DDC staff and guest choreographers and teachers. They will perform in all community performances and the Company Spring Dance Concert. Senior Ensemble students will also attend Oakland Dance Festival, submit a piece for a chance to attend Michigan Youth Dance Festival and RADFest. (Permitting successful adjudication + acceptance). Students will also participate in fun events such as the Company Picnic In-House Convention/Workshop, Halloween Party and Christmas Party!

Youth Ensemble(approx11-15y)

This a pre-professional company for students approx. ages 11-15y. This is reserved for students who are progressing in their technique and performance skills and are looking for advanced training. These students will get the chance to learn multiple dances in a variety of styles by DDC staff and guest choreographers and teachers. They will perform in all community performances, Pistons + Lugnuts pre-game performances and the Company Spring Dance Concert Mosaic. Youth Ensemble students will also attend Oakland Dance Festival, and submit a piece for a chance to attend Michigan Youth Dance Festival. (permitting they continue to allow MS students to apply). Students will also participate in fun events such as the Company Picnic In-House Convention/Workshop, Halloween Party and Christmas Party!

  • Fireflies choreographed by Lauren Mudry and performed by Senior Ensemble was adjudicated and accepted to perform at MYDF May of 2025

RADFest 2026

  • Fireflies choreographed by Lauren Mudry and performed by Senior Ensemble was adjudicated and accepted to perform at RADFest March of 2026

Commitment

Audition

Dancers are required to audition and attend the parent/student information meeting on May 16th at 10:30am-12:00pm OR June order to join. Dancers should be at least 6yrs by Sept 1st. This is open to ALL 6-18 year olds.  returning students and new students welcome.

Company Summer Dance Camp

Dance Company Camp Aug This camp is required for all Dance Company members Cost for the camp in included in the yearly company cost for company members

Company Class

Apprentice Mondays 5:10-5:55pm
Junior: 11am-12:30pm
Youth Ensemble: 10-11:30am
Senior Ensemble:Saturdays 9-10:30am 

Company members will attend their company class(listed above) Sept-Early June with breaks that follow the Delta Dance Connection calendar. It is important that students are committed to attending Company Class and weekly dance classes. There will be attendance requirements to participate in company.

Additional Class Requirements

  • Apprentice: Required to be enrolled in a ballet class throughout the 2025-2026 season

  • Junior: Required to be enrolled in a ballet class+ an additional weekly dance class (Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Irish etc) throughout the 2025-2026 season.

  • Youth Ensemble: Required to be enrolled in a ballet class+ an additional weekly dance class (Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Irish etc) throughout the 2025-2026 season.

  • Senior: Required to be enrolled in a ballet class+ Conditioning + an additional weekly dance class (Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Irish etc) throughout the 2025-2026 season.


 

Performance + Training Opportunities

Master Classes

Company members will benefit from additional master classes in a variety of genres from various teachers.

Learn from a Variety of Choreographers:

Company members will have the opportunities to learn and perform choreography from multiple choreographers and in multiple styles of dance

Performance Opportunities:

Students in Dance Company will have additional opportunities perform at local community events and festivals. All Dance Company members will also perform in their own dance concert in early spring. Sr. Co. Members will attend regional dance festivals.

Company members will be rehearsing weekly, performing together and in class together in addition to experience other fun actives such as the dance company picnic, holiday party and more! With all of this time spent together, we find that students form special bonds and friendships with each other and become like family.
